A practical daily sequence

• Review due cards before adding a large batch of new ones.
• Attempt each answer before revealing it.
• Grade the memory you actually produced, including article, plural, or case.
• Edit or split cards that remain ambiguous after repeated failures.

Grade German answers honestly

If a noun prompt requires article and plural, recalling only the translation is incomplete. If a sentence card tests dative, a correct noun with the wrong article is still a case error. Honest grading keeps the schedule aligned with the learning target.

What spaced repetition does not guarantee

A review schedule supports memory; it does not by itself build listening comprehension, spontaneous conversation, or broad reading ability. Combine recall cards with comprehensible input and real language use.
